A critical aspect of MOKAN’s mission is to provide supportive services, improve contracting opportunities for minority contractors, sustain them, and help them grow, particularly in the current difficult economy.
We offer invaluable services such as our online plan room, expert technical assistance, bid support and more to help you get opportunities to work. We also urge you to take advantage of our special revolving loan program; you could qualify for $10,000 in funding to use for payroll, equipment of other pressing needs.
MOKAN has added several program elements that will allow us to serve more minority contractors with current, relevant, and expanded programming necessary for minority contractors to further improve their technical skills and business operations. I am excited about the new MOKAN Institute that will offer a variety of workshops and classes to strengthen your business operations—everything from basic accounting and payroll to internet marketing. We have also partnered with respected professionals and education institutions such as St. Louis Community College to provide specialized training in subjects like LEED and OSHA 10 Certifications. Classes are open to both members and non-members at free or reduced costs. And if you need more personal assistance, we have partnered with professionals in the area of accounting and finance, tax preparation, marketing and more who will work with you on an individual basis to address your special needs.
